Hello 2k18 Players! Welcome back to another NBA 2k18 guide. Today, I’ll be going over with you how to dominate in the post like some of the Great’s of the past. All right let’s get started!
Below are the basic NBA 2K18 Post Moves you can use in the game:
ENTER AND LEAVE POST
Personally I’m gonna go over is how to enter and leave the post. To enter into a back and down position, you hold that L2 on your ps4 controller or LT on your Xbox. It’s important to remember all the post moves you want to pull up don’t get done without you holding this button first. And to leave the post up position you let go of the LT or L2 button removing yourself from the back down position to transition into a face up game.
Now facing up you really only want to do it when the ball handler hasn’t droop with the ball yet. As it obviously allows you to protect the ball better. It gives you the option to pass, shoot, fitter with a jab step and chain into something else. Basically you want to keep your options open. Facing up those all for nothing if the defendant doesn’t think you can hit that jumper because they’ll just back up when you turn around so use wisely.
Now to pivot in the post while holding L2 or LT you tap the left sticki n any direction of why you’re holding the ball. And they’ll do different pivot animations depending on where you’re pointing a stick. This lets you see out into the friend who reacts to your movements and you play accordingly offer what he does or doesn’t do.
Next is the drop step. To perform drop step hold L2 or LT at that point the left stick left or right toward hoop, then tap square or X on your controller. Which essentially means have the left it pointing at the basket then press square X. So you should be moving towards the paint before you press the last button. You break this out when the defender is playing you too tight. Always push it back and get your back down the tap then you hit them with the drop step. But before they know it they’re behind you and you got an easy dunk or later.
SPIN OR DRIVE
Now put a spin or drive. To spin or drive to the hoop, you rotate the right stick to either shoulder so if you want to drive baseline start the right they get about three o’clock. If you’re on the left side of the court now rotated around the bottom to nine o’clock. And if you’re on the right side of the basket start the right stick at 9:00 and rotate it around the bottom to 3. And a job to the key you start the right to get your back shoulder and swing to stick around the bottom to your frontside. This is way faster and less convoluted than the hold the right trigger point to stick. This way let go of this control they have one to drive to the key and baseline.
To do a layup from the post hold L2 or LT of your controller and move the left stick towards the hoop. So you’re not standing still and hold the right stick in any direction and your player will attempt to throw up something. It might go dunk if he’s close enough. I utilize this move too often because there are better asses at your disposal.
